On Sunday, 7th July, the Al-Qalam University Katsina Alumni Association honoured Sheikh Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), PhD, Commander of the Hisbah Board in Katsina State, alongside Dr. Armaya'u Umar Zango, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics of Al-Qalam University.

The award ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD; Chief of Staff to the Katsina State Government, Alhaji Jabiru Muhammad Tsauri; and the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Qalam University, Professor Nasir Musa Yauri. The event also saw the presence of university lecturers and alumni who were honoured.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda commended the alumni association for their thoughtful selection of honorees. He remarked, "I am very pleased to be here as it has given me the opportunity to learn more about Dr. Armaya'u Umar Zango and his achievements. We will continue to support such exemplary individuals." The governor also praised Dr. Aminu Usman as a dedicated young man, stating, "I have known Dr. Aminu Usman for a long time and appreciate his efforts in societal reform. This is why we established the Hisbah Board in Katsina State and appointed him as its commander due to his passion for the role."

The event, held at the M.A Digital Age Conference Hall on the road to the Katsina State Government Secretariat near Barhim Estates at 9 PM, was filled with prayers and good wishes from families, friends, and colleagues of the honorees.
